fiery darts and bowls

I went to Family Home Evening last night at our YSA leaders house.. It was fun to hang out with some friends and enjoy each others company.. Jimmy gave a quick lesson about withstanding fiery darts...Though it was a great lesson that involved a bag of water and a lighter(= fun) .. that is not what I wish to write about right now..

No, this post is about Sister Broughton and her selflessness..

We were sitting next to each other and I noticed a bowl in one of her cupboards that were open.. I spotted a white milk glass with print of random farmer people and animals on it.. both my grandmas had similar bowls in their cupboards, I told her that her bowl brought up memories of bowls like that that were filled with grandmas jello salad or holding rolls at family dinners years ago.. I miss those days...and she shared a few cute stories too... Well that was that and a few minutes later I was leaving and she shouted from across the room, "Don't forget your bowl!" I looked at her funny, clearly I did not bring a bowl to FHE that I was "forgetting" ..She got up and ran to get the said bowl from the cupboard and gave it to me..I tried to give it back to no avail.. She put the bowl right in my purse and said it's my early house warming gift... so I finally embraced the fact that she was not going to take it back... I love this bowl!!! I love how it's going to hold lots of jello salad I make, I love the color and the fun story I will have to tell my kids.. of the sweetest leader who was selfless and loved everyone.

That's a dang cute bowl! Chelsea. Seriously today has been the worst day and reading your blog made me forget about it for like thirty minutes. Thank you.
P.S. Sister Broughton is a real gem.
