I got a frantic call yesterday while I was walking out from work
from a friend who had locked her and the baby she was nannying out of the house.
She had gone to the park and accidentally locked all the doors
and forgot the keys..The only access to the house and
our only sliver of hope to getting in
was the chain lock on the front door,
that only allowed the door to open a mere 5 inches...
I hopped in my car and flew (with an empty gas tank and on fumes)
to my parents house to get "cutty things".
Our plan was to cut the chain to get in the house.
I grabbed three tools that looked like they could do the job and headed over.
Once I got there I tried to cut the chain with all three tools..
but nothing was cutting it. (I could not even help myself with that pun)
We sat there and laughed for a minute about the situation.
Then...as I was sitting there thinking of what to do
I looked in and saw that the other side of the latch
was hooked to the door frame with 4 screws...
so I walked over to the neighbors house and asked for a screw driver..
marched back over, so confident my plan would work
and unscrewed the screws. And wouldn't ya know it...
It worked!!!
We got in the house!!!
And started laughing so hard at the fact that it was so easy to do!!

This is the little boo boo that Kandyce was watching.. I tried to get her to smile for this pic.. but this is all I got..This is the look of "that girl must be crazy, waving and doing random things to make me smile".. and this is all I got. You should have seen her.. she just started copying everything I was doing, folding her arms, patting her belly.. sticking out her tongue! Hilarious!
If you were wondering... yes, I did pinch and bounce her cheeky cheeks! She loved it!
