Oh little boys and their shenanigans..
Scouts last night was... well a test of my patience.. but nonetheless fun...
At the beginning of the game of tag I told the kids to not go in the fenced pool area.. they all agreed.. not ten minutes later one is on the trampoline, climbing the fence to the pooled area... I said, "Hey I thought I said not to go over to the pool side...?" Adding a nice tone at the end trying not to sound like the mean scouts leader... he came out of the fence and said " Hey, don't blame me, I'm not a good listener." After a kid says that... there really is nothing you can say or do.. I just shrugged my shoulders...
Then later we were handing out snacks.. (candy necklaces...9 year old boys are silly) Spencer said.. "Don't you think we should wash our hands first?" He did a scout thing (I really should know the technical name.. ya know being in scouts and all.. ha!) where he had to wash his hands and be "clean" for a week.. and my mom said it just stuck with him.. he's been really careful about washing his hands all the time now.. After getting all of their treats.. they all ran off and my mom asked them if they were going to run around while they eat the candy.. they didn't care.. but Spencer came and sat next to us.. he said "Nah, I don't want to get sick."
More reasons I love him..
